It's all up for grabs in the final race in the Audi Centre Sydney Blue Water Pointscore

Can Ichi Ban convert its 4 wins from the first 5 races of the Audi Centre Sydney Blue Water Pointscore, into an overall win with a good placing in race 6, the Rolex Sydney Hobart?

It appears that, as has occurred many times before, Race 6 of the Audi Centre Sydney Blue Water Pointscore, the Rolex Sydney Hobart, will determine the 2018-19 Blue Water Champion.

The Rolex Sydney Hobart is a mandatory carry in the pointscore.  Whilst a bad result in one other race will be disregarded, a bad result in the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race must be counted towards the overall result.

Ichi Ban has gone into the Rolex Sydney Hobart with a 6 point advantage over CYCA Rear Commodore Sam Haynes' TP52 Celestial, with Koa a further 8 points back.

At midnight on the 2nd day of the race Ichi Ban leads Celestial in the progressive placings, which bodes well for Matt Allen achieving the outcome that has so far eluded him.  However, with 200 miles to the finish line it is way too early to count this one as in the bag, and nobody should yet count out the other contenders for the title of Blue Water Champion.
