A rare occurrence with super maxis holding all top honours

1515hrs: Lauded as the shortest-fastest race of the series with anyone in the running for the top honours is seeing exactly that. With Comanche currently in the lead for Line Honours, the super-maxi is also currently holding some rarer accolades for a yacht of it's size as IRC and PHS Division leaders as well! Their close rival, Black Jack is the only competitor holding them back for a clean sweep of the honours, as they currently hold ORCi. Expect to see this change, however, as the smaller boats in the fleet take advantage of the fresh winds home.

Updates:

  • Five competitors are around Bird Island, the northernmost point of the race
  • After the supers, Ichi Ban is next on the IRC leaderboard, followed by Primitive Cool, Yarrandi and Voodoo
  • After starting in 5-10 knots from the nor 'east, the sea breeze is continuing to build with gusts of up to 20 knots recorded by BOM
  • All forty starters are still racing, with no withdrawals at this stage
