Progress slows as breeze softens and crews settle in for a tactical night

Nine boats have now made it across the finish line in Rushcutters Bay but with the northerly breeze fading, progress for the rest of the fleet is starting to slow. The forecast shows a dramatic drop in wind strength before a soft southerly change in the early hours of Sunday morning will push the second half of the fleet back to Sydney Harbour.

The current overall standings have Matt Allen's Ichi Ban sitting at the top of the IRC leader board ahead of the other TP52s but with so many still out at sea they will have to wait until morning to see the final result.
